    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Job Summary:


    Reporting to SVP of Harvard Protection Services (HPS), the Training Manager is a new position responsible for the training and instructional leadership of all security staff. You will manage, professionally develop, motivate, and assess the team for a training and development. The incumbent is a partner and critical contributor to Harvard Protection in our goal of providing best in class security and life safety services, while meeting all regulatory and compliance guidelines.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Manage all aspects of training programs, from design to delivery, including but not limited to orientation, state-specific training requirements, CPR/1st/AED, Fire Life Safety, customer service
    • Conduct training needs assessments annually to develop programs as industry evolves
    • Develop and manage training budget
    • Conduct and/or oversee all training for security personnel reporting to the area/branch office (e.g., training licensing requirements, contract specific, annual refresher courses); data entry; filing and records maintenance
    • Track and prepare training compliance requirements and reporting, including the development of standards, Post Procedures and Key Performance Indicators
    • Collaborate with the Corporate training team to ensure alignment across core development programs
    • Identify areas for improvement associated with contract-specific policies, practices, requirements and procedures
    • Coordinate, develop, deliver and manage employee training and development programs
    • Develop and/or customize training courses, content and materials
    • Provide regular reports to management regarding training initiatives, scheduling and effectiveness of employee and organizational development initiatives
    • Conduct and facilitate training sessions, presenting information clearly and concisely to various audiences
    • Lead by example, role model for Harvard’s core values

    Knowledge and Skill Requirements

    Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

    • Must be able to meet and maintain any licenses or certifications required by the state
    • Possess one or more of the following:
      • College degree in criminal justice, education, or other related field
      • High school diploma or equivalent combined with a minimum of 5 years of experience in training program/educational curriculum development, security services industry preferred
    • Must be willing to participate in the company’s pre-employment screening process
    • Strong interpersonal communication skills
    • Ability to work in a fast paced, customer service environment
    • Effective time management skills and the ability to prioritize and problem solve
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
    • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office
    • Proficient in technical writing for the development of procedures and training manuals

    • Ability to coach, mentor, and motivate
