Job Summary:


Our pursuit of continuous improvement and Operational Excellence is supported by our recent re-design of our corporate structure. Core services provided by our CAO area are strategic and operational coincident, with substantial business analysis, implementation of Lean methodologies and tools as well as the definition of Corporate standards.

The Project Manager will support the organization by driving program and project management discipline, which, ultimately, enhance accountability, drive projects to completion, and promote communications. Consulting with internal clients in various parts of organization, corporate departments (COEs), the Project Manager will function as an in-house consultant and driver of projects primarily in the Technology area.

The role involves helping define the need or problem, driving coordination and completion of projects, all while working with a team that includes internal clients. Other responsibilities include: summarizing progress of projects, preparing reports for senior management, and maintaining working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments/COEs involved in the project.  Further, the Project Manager will work with the PMO and CAO to assist the organization in improve business performance across the business portfolio and introducing best practices into the organization.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Apply technical knowledge and tools to help develop and optimize PMO processes
  • Provide input to PMO design and semi-automated systems to aid in delivering services at lowest cost and shortest cycle time
  • Accomplishes project goals by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and directing employees
  • Create material and deliver effective training based on customer and project needs
  • Drive and require the creation and update of project and user documentation.
  • Initiate, coordinate, and enforce systems, policies, and procedures
  • Maintains organization’s effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting implementation of information technologies
  • Completes projects by coordinating resources and timelines with user departments and internal technology team
  • Verifies application results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented
  • Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes, identifying problems, evaluating trends, and anticipating requirements
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies
  • Maintains records and composes correspondence relative to the work
  • May be required to participate in business continuity planning, disaster prevention and remediation teams.
  • Utilize principles of Project Management to evaluate work method proposals and to develop recommendations to management
  • Additional duties, consistent with the successful operation of the department and the business as whole, may be assigned by management

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in business, engineering, technology, or other appropriate field
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Technology-focused Project Management
  • PMP/PRINCE II certification preferred
  • Experience in datacenter or Corporate/Enterprise Operations preferred
  • History of success in optimizing project management within organizations
  • Knowledge of system implementation methods used for the development of new systems and enhancements to existing information systems
  • Knowledge of computer monitoring systems, vendor-supplied packaged applications, utilities, and other highly technical applications is preferred
  • Ability to gather and analyze facts, draw conclusions, define problems, and suggest solutions
  • Excellent documentation and organization skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and guide/mentor others on the team
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various departments within the organization, both Corporate and field audiences, that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
  • Ability to facilitate groups of stakeholders to arrive at conclusions and recommendations
  • Strong emphasis on implementation, achieving measurable results
